This guide will walk you through the account verification process as a private host on Holidu. By completing these steps, you'll ensure your account is fully verified and ready to accept bookings.
Before You Start: Gather Required Documents
Before beginning the verification process, prepare the following documents. Please note that Adyen does not accept scanned documents—only clear photos or official digital downloads of original documents will be accepted.
- Official identification (passport, driving licence, or national ID)
- Proof of bank account ownership (bank statement or deposit slip)
- Registration number (if you're a freelancer, sole trader, or sole proprietor)
Step 1: Access Your Account Settings
Log into your Holidu account and navigate to the 'Account' tab. Click on 'Validate' to begin the verification process. You may be asked to sign a new agreement—accept it to continue. This will not change your pricing.
Step 2: Verify Your Personal Information
Click on 'Personal Details' and review the information that has been pre-filled from your Holidu account. If any details need correction, click 'Edit' to update them. Ensure all information is accurate and complete.
At the bottom of this section, select whether your bank account is registered in your personal name or under your sole proprietorship (if applicable). If you operate as a freelancer, sole trader, or sole proprietor, provide your registration number and business address. Once complete, click 'Next'.
Step 3: Confirm Your Address
Enter your address in the search field—it will autofill the remaining details. It is essential that your address matches exactly with the address shown on your ID document. If your billing address differs from your personal address on your ID, update it to match your identification document.
Step 4: Verify Your Identity Document
You have two verification options available:
Instant Verification (Recommended)
- Select the country that issued your identification document
- Choose your document type (passport, driving licence, or ID card)
- Confirm that your document matches the personal information you've entered
- Scan the QR code with your phone or request the link via SMS
- Take clear, high-quality photos of your document for immediate verification
Manual Verification
- Select your document type
- Upload clear, high-quality photos of your document from your computer
- Click 'Next' to submit
- Allow up to 72 hours for verification
Step 5: Verify Your Bank Account Details
Ensure that your bank account information matches the name you provided in the previous steps. Select one of these verification options:
Instant Verification
- Select your online banking provider
- Log into your bank account through Tink, our trusted partner
- Your login information is never stored—it is only used for verification purposes
Manual Verification
- Enter your complete bank details
- Upload a recent bank document (issued within the last 12 months)
- Ensure the document clearly shows your name, IBAN, and bank location (required for non-EU residents)
- Click 'Next' to submit
- Verification may take up to 72 hours
Step 6: Complete Sole Proprietor Details (If Applicable)
If you operate as a sole proprietor, freelancer, or sole trader, provide the following information:
- Your business legal name as it appears on official registration documents
- Your registration number (or indicate if you do not have one)
- Your business address, which must match your legal address
Step 7: Review and Sign the Service Agreement
Carefully review the service agreement provided by our payment provider, Adyen. Once you have reviewed all terms, click 'Sign' at the bottom to complete this step and proceed.
Step 8: Monitor Your Verification Status
Your verification status will depend on which verification method you selected:
- If you completed Instant Verification, your account status should update immediately
- If you completed Manual Verification, allow up to 72 hours for processing. You can track the status in your Holidu account—it will change from "In Review" to "Complete" once finished
Tips for a Successful Verification
- Ensure Document Clarity: Make sure all photos and documents are clear, well-lit, and fully visible with no shadows or glare
- Maintain Consistency: Verify that all information across your documents matches exactly, particularly names and addresses
- Check Your Email: Monitor your email inbox regularly, as we may contact you with updates or requests for additional information
- Complete All Fields: Do not leave any required fields blank—incomplete submissions will delay the verification process
