More than 40 kilometres long, Lake Zurich is huge, and a glorious place for taking relaxing walks or cycling along the shore, especially in summer, when you can bathe on its beaches and have a lovely picnic.

A world-class mecca for modern art, Kunsthaus Zürich boasts the city’s largest collection of modern art, including significant works by Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, Munch or Monetas well as numerous contemporary Swiss artists.

Üetliberg is a viewpoint 870 meters above sea level offering the finest views of the city, the lake and the Alpine mountains beyond. To get to the viewpoint, take tram line 13 to Albisguiti and from there walk about 45 minutes along a beautiful trail.

The Botanical Garden, located half an hour walk from the centre, boasts more than 7,000 species of plants and three dome-shaped greenhouses that contain trees, plants and flowers from different climatic zones all around the world. Perhaps best of all, it’s free!
